First summer day (part 3)

1 June 2005 - First summer day (part 3)

So after kadriorg we went straight to Pirita.

Pirita is located in Tallinn, and is spread across the shore of the Finland gulf. It is calm, green suburb of the town, and is favorite place for spending free time in winter and especially in summer. There are plenty of places to visit there : botanical garden, TV tower, St. Brigitta convent (mostly ruins, but still), and public beach. This is where we are headed.

We drove straight over freeway , located right near the shore taking us just a few minutes for the trip. We parked the car and went to the beach. Allot of pine trees are growing right before the shore, exposing a sand forward on the way. The time was somewhere over 6pm, that's why there were only few people: runners, people on bicycles, and others like us who just came to see the sea.

The season wasn't opened yet, it was 1 June, but cold enough, even to walk with a shirt. I just took a few pictures. Because there aren't much people visiting the beach, ripples on the sand were almost perfect and not ruined by foot prints. I decided to take a picture of it, but my dad accidently fit into the shot, with his reflection, giving the picture a strange and interesting look.

The beach wasn't cleaned for a long time, so some garbage and seaweed are almost everywhere. Some animal foot prints are also left on the sand, I think it is a dog, but much bigger foot prints are also found, not human for sure, maybe yeti, who knows.

Here is another interesting shot of the bump on the sand.

And off course there are plenty of shells everywhere.

The sky was still clean, blue, but the sun was slowly falling over the horizon. It wasn't really warm, but for sure it started to become less warmer. After taking few shots, we decided to go home, taking few more pictures on the way to the car.

The day was finally over. I have shown here only a small number of pictures taken, but best of them all.
